About the Winner Friday animation

The scheduling half of a giveaway — the post that says when, so entries do not trail off on Wednesday. Circling one day on a full week is what makes the date land; naming Friday in type alone does not. Use the subline for the entry deadline, which is usually the night before and is the part people miss.

Where it fits

  • As the scheduling post that says when the winner is drawn.
  • In a Story after the entry rules.
  • As a reminder mid-week so entries do not trail off.

Filling it in

The kicker says what happens and the sub line says the deadline, entries close thursday night, which is usually the part people miss. The ring colour is the hand-drawn circle. The strip is a fixed week with Friday circled, so keep the draw on a Friday or read it as the idea of a marked day.

Format and timing

Winner Friday is built at 640 × 360, a 16:9 landscape frame, the shape of a YouTube video, a stream layout and most editing timelines, and runs 3 seconds at 30 frames per second. It arrives in 0.2 seconds, holds for 2.0 and clears in 0.8, so cue it a beat before the moment it labels. Export it as an MP4 for a timeline or a feed, a GIF where video will not embed, or a MOV with an alpha channel to lay it over footage with nothing behind it. Renders go up to 4K, and the free plan exports at 720p with a watermark.

Questions about Winner Friday

Can I circle a different day?

Not from the fields. The ring circles Friday in the source. If your draw is on a Sunday, edit the Lottie to move the ring, or write the day in the kicker and let the circle stand for it.

Why circle rather than write the day?

Because circling one day on a full week is what makes the date land. Naming Friday in type alone does not; a ring on a calendar reads as a commitment.
